Cobra Vivarium Heat Mat
Cobra Vivarium Heat Mats 11 inch x 29 inch (28 x
73 cm) ) and is suitable for vivariums of
up to approximately 60 inches ( 152cm) Long. Additional
heating basking spot or hot rock may be required
if the Vivarium is very tall or if it is situated in
a cold room. Item E in the product picture. Cobra
heat mats produce ultra-long wavelength infra red heat
which heats the furnishings inside the Vivarium and
not the air.
This wavelength is also visible to most Reptiles and
they will position themselves in front of the mat if
they need a heat boost. Manufactured to the highest
standards and meets the requirements of EEC Safety directives.
When choosing a heat mat make sure it is not more than
half the length of the vivarium and position it on the
outside of the glass right up against one end. This
will ensure that a hot end and a cold end are available
to the Reptile. Always position water and food bowls
in the cold end. If positioning underneath the Vivarium
base, care must be taken to have a minimum thickness
of substrate or heat could build up and crack the glass.
The mats are suitable for positioning on the back pane,
simply tape on around the plastic perimeter of the mat
making sure the tape does not go over the black heat
emitting part. For wooden vivariums the matt should
be taped onto the inside. A thermostat is not required.
Thermostatically controlled ceramic heat systems are
also available on this website.
